Registration
Athletics is a summer sport with the season running from October to March. Registration for the 2025/26 summer club season are now open!
If you would like to register as a club member only, complete Step 1 (Junior/Senior Club Member Registration). This step applies to athletes registered in the 2025/26 season as well as new athletes. Note: Athletes who registered for the 2024 Harrier season have already completed this step.
If you wish to compete in the Canterbury Children's Athletics Saturday Competition, you must complete both Step 1 and Step 2 (Competition Registration), which covers the period from 1 August 2025 to 1 March 2026.
If you wish to compete in the Canterbury Athletics Senior Track & Field, Thursday nights and Saturday Afternoon Competition, you must complete both Step 1 and Step 2 (Competition Registration), which covers the period from 1 August 2025 to 1 March 2026.

Step 1: Ashbuton Athletics Club Member Registration (Junior and Senior Athletes)
To register as a Ashburton Athletics Club member, please click here. This is payment for Club, NZ Athletics, Canterbury Athletics, NOT Canterbury Childrens Athetics Competition, that is the below link, its a separate registration.

Step 3: Mid South Athletics Friday Night Competition Registration
To register for the Mid South Competition, click here to access the competition registration site. This will be live every Sunday night the week before the competition, entry will close the Wednesday night before Friday competition, no late entries will be accepted.
Attendance requires parent help at that event, which includes set up of the event and running of the event our club is rostered onto. Toilet cleaning at the conclusion of the event is also required as of 2025/26 season if rostered on. It's a fantastic opportunity for families to get involved and support our young athletes.

Your First Club Night is Free!
We believe in trying before committing, so your first club night is free! Plus, you can join us for two Saturday meetings without needing to register. It's a great way to get a feel for the fun and excitement of our athletics events!
2025/2026 Season Commencement
We are excited to announce the start of the 2025/2026 athletics season with a range of events and activities for our junior athletes.
First Club Night
- Date: Wednesday, 8th October 2025
- Time: 5.20pm - 7.00pm
- Location: The Ashburton Domain Oval (accessible from Winter Street/Phillip Street, Allenton, Ashburton)
- Note: Middle distance events will start at 5:10 pm, with Joe Ford
This event is open to all athletes. Our helpful volunteers will be available to demonstrate and teach a variety of athletics events and answer any questions you may have. We encourage you to come along, give it a try, and discover how fun and challenging athletics can be!
First Junior Super Stars Club Night
- Start Date: - Wednesday, 15th October 2025 (6 Weeks only, weather depending)
- Last Night: - Wednesday, 19th November 2025
- Session One Time: 4pm - 5pm
This session is "Get, Set, Go" programme, specially designed for Under-7 athletes who are just beginning their athletics journey. Covering Discus, Shotput, Long Jump, High Jump and Sprints. Coach Jen and her helpers will be on hand to introduce fun throwing, jumping and running skills and games. 4 Weeks of fun games, skill development plus 2 weeks of "mini competition nights" with a certificate of PB's at the end.
